Robert Inesta, DC, L.Ac, CCSP

Dr. Robert Inesta was inspired to begin his journey as a health practitioner after suffering from sports injuries and having through spinal and shoulder surgeries at a young age.

These painful experiences, although unpleasant at the time, shaped his life and are what ultimately inspired him to learn about how the human body naturally heals.

He is a Chiropractor, Licensed Acupuncturist, Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, fascial/soft tissue therapy specialist, certified Pain Reprocessing Therapy practitioner and certified functional medicine practitioner. He has been in practice since 2004 and helped thousands of patients overcome pain and improve their health.

He believes the PATIENT is the true healer and that the doctor’s role is to teach and empower them to do so while helping to remove restrictions and optimizing their physiology.

He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at New York Chiropractic College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, was inducted into Phi Chi Omega Honor Society and was the recipient of multiple clinical achievement awards.

Robert is one of the only chiropractors in Berkshire County, MA who is also a Licensed Acupuncturist, after having completed a three year Masters of Science degree and board licensing exams in acupuncture. He combines Traditional Chinese Medicine with Scalp Acupuncture, Acupuncture Physical Medicine and contemporary neuromuscular dry needling.

His extensive postgraduate training consists of functional rehabilitation, soft tissue therapy, biomechanics, functional medicine, nutrition, neurochemistry, clinical neurophysiology and electrodiagnosis. He is certified in Active Release Techniques, Stecco Fascial Manipulation, Graston Technique and Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and is a member of the Fascial Research Society.

He is the clinical director of Westchester Sports & Wellness in Harrison, NY and now in Great Barrington, MA providing chiropractic, acupuncture, fascial therapy and lifestyle counseling services.

He has written numerous articles on health, lectured extensively and co-authored the training manuals of the National Federation of Personal Trainers and the books “Principles of Functional Exercise” and “A Squash Player’s Training Handbook.”

When he’s not helping patients or studying new techniques and research, he’s enjoying time with his wife and daughter, hiking, gardening, practicing martial arts, writing, reading and playing music.

"After 30 years in the fitness business, thank goodness for Dr. Inesta who gets me back on track, educates me and gives me good solid care. I am amazed at the time he takes in each appointment and am reassured that he is listening to me and taking the right steps. No matter how broken I feel walking in, I always experience an upgrade in well being upon leaving. Sometimes, he is a miracle worker and most times, an incredibly great doctor."
